Jenna Sheehan is a self-taught charcoal artist based in Vero Beach, Florida. She began her artistic journey at the age of sixteen, dedicating six to eight hours a day to drawing and refining her technique. What began as a personal passion quickly grew into a professional pursuit rooted in storytelling and emotional depth. Jenna’s work explores the complexity of human experience, using charcoal portraiture to capture the resilience, sorrow, joy, and quiet strength in each of her subjects. She believes every face tells a story, and through careful rendering of lines, shadows, and fine detail, she creates portraits that invite reflection and empathy.
Charcoal, for Jenna, is a medium that mirrors the human condition—it is flexible, expressive, and capable of deep nuance. Its softness allows for layered precision, while its boldness conveys immediacy and intensity. Each drawing is the result of many focused hours, where even the smallest details—an eyelash, a wrinkle, a teardrop—become powerful components of a person’s narrative. Her work is not just representational but emotional, grounded in the belief that portraiture can be a vessel for truth and connection.
Jenna’s work has been featured in Fine Art Connoisseur, Poets and Artists, and Realism Today, and she has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Her past exhibitions include Live Worms Gallery, San Francisco, Brera Academy in Milan, 22 North Gallery, Detroit, 33 Contemporary, Chicago and Mill’s Gallery in Orlando.
