Club Meeting of August 20, 2025 - Minutes
St Lucie County Cultural Alliance Office 111 Orange Avenue (Lower level), Fort Pierce, FL 34950 6 PM to 7 PM with refreshments donated by members and the SLC Alliance 1) Membership - distribution of membership cards. Outstanding cards will be mailed on September first. 2) Artists Spotlight @ Cool Beans: Friday, August 29, will feature Debra Terrio and Ellen Gillette. Please join us starting at 6 PM with fun, food, and raffles. Raffle items are needed for this event. Please consider donating. 3) Cool Beans Brew: Melanie Staton is the managing director for Cool Beans artist displays and the Fort Pierce Art Club’s Artists Spotlight event on the last Friday of the Month starting at 6 PM to 7:30 PM. Artists wishing to hang their art at Cool Beans and/or be a featured artist for October, November or December, should text her at 410-901-7550. 4) Magnificent Miniature Masterpieces: The event scheduled for November 8, in the large Mezzanine of 111 Orange Avenue from 10 AM to 2 PM. The judging and set up is scheduled for Friday from 5 PM to ? with food. 5) Workshops in September: Jeanne Johansen announced that the club has booked the Maravilla Center, located on 2622 Oleander Blvd, Fort Pierce, for Wednesdays, September 3, 10, 17 and 24 for 1 hour (with additional set up and clean up time) for workshops. This comes from requests during Art on the Porch for more one on one training. This is an opportunity for club members who wish to teach and be paid to participate and schedule classes. The only cost to the teacher is $25 to reimburse the club. Proceeds will be outlined by the board and presented to members for approval. Workshop will be advertised on the Club’s media platforms. 6) Community project: "We Care Cases" with the Lions Club. Jeanne Johansen explained the eye glass case project. This is a community project. Artists are given an eye glass case to paint. The Lions Club of Fort Pierce will then load the cases with items to be distributed to the homes and those in need. 7) Members projects: Blue Canary Agency: Melanie Staton talked about the new workshop series presented by her company with her husband, Bezo. Two members, Ethel Rowland and Jeanne Johansen attended their first event and Jeanne reported that it was great. Melanie will provide more information on upcoming events with Blue Canary Agency. AREA ARTISTS NEWS: Past member, Beate Hunton, called the club to inform fabric artists that her employer is shutting down his manufacturing facility and selling off the fabric inventory. Anyone wishing to learn more and set an appointment to buy (cash only) should call Beate at 772-530-5336. Vero Beach Artist, Judy Burgarella <[email protected]> 772-584-9169, emailed the club inviting local artists to participate for FREE in the FLORIDA ART CHIX AND FRIENDS ART SHOW (October 16 to November 19) at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 1590 27th Ave, Vero Beach. Judy was one of the Fort Pierce Art Club’s IN HER IMAGE artists at the Elliot Museum, Stuart, in 2020. Please verify all information.
